Our commitment

This website is run by The Davey Corporation Ltd. We have built it to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Inclusivity is one of our five core values, and that applies to how we communicate as much as to how we work.

What we have done

  • Every text and background pairing meets or exceeds the AA contrast ratio, and most reach AAA.
  • The whole site can be operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator at every step.
  • A skip link lets keyboard and screen reader users jump straight past the navigation.
  • Headings follow a logical order, and each page has exactly one level-one heading.
  • Landmarks (header, navigation, main and footer) are marked up so assistive technology can move between them.
  • Every meaningful image has descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Form fields have visible labels, helpful hints, and error messages that are announced when they appear.
  • Menus, tabs and accordions follow the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices, including arrow key support and Escape to close.
  • Interactive targets are at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels.
  • The site reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide and at 400 per cent zoom.
  • Text can be resized to 200 per cent without loss of content or function.
  • No content flashes more than three times per second.

Animation and motion

This site uses movement to help orient you as you scroll. If you have set Reduce motion in your operating system or browser, every animation, parallax effect, automatic transition and count-up is switched off and content is shown in its final state immediately. You do not need to change anything on the site itself, and the setting is picked up straight away if you change it while browsing.

Working without JavaScript

All content and navigation work with JavaScript disabled. Animations are added only as an enhancement, so nothing is ever hidden behind a script that has not run.

Known limitations

The contact form opens your own email application rather than submitting to a server. If that is inconvenient, you can email us directly at office@daveycorp.com or call 07841 014028.

Tell us if you have a problem

If you find something on this site that you cannot access, or you need information in another format such as large print or an accessible PDF, please contact us and we will put it right.

Enforcement

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (opens in a new tab).
